RAW Connoisseur 1¼ Size + Tips: unbleached, handmade, straight from Alcoy
Pick up a fresh pack of RAW Connoisseur 1¼ and feel the difference immediately: the paper feels slightly rough and dry between your fingers, almost like thin natural paper from a sketchpad. No chemical smell, no hint of chlorine. Just the subtle, earthy aroma of unbleached cellulose from Alcoy, Spain – the historic centre of European paper manufacturing.
That is exactly the starting point. Anyone looking to buy rolling papers that do not overpower their own blend will recognise and appreciate this first impression.
-
Ultra-thin paper: Double-pressed to minimal thickness so that as little paper taste as possible is produced during burning, resulting in a more pleasant smoking experience
-
Unbleached: Processed entirely without chlorine bleaching, recognisable by the natural brown tone of the paper
-
Handmade: Every pack is produced in Alcoy, Valencia, under controlled humidity, which improves consistency when rolling
-
Tips included: 50 leaves plus unbleached filter tips in one set, no need to buy filters separately
-
1¼ format: Wider than Single Wide, narrower than King Size Slim – ideal for medium quantities and precise hand-rolling
How to use the RAW Connoisseur 1¼ correctly
The 1¼ format gives you a little more room when rolling than a classic short. The extra width makes it easier to distribute your blend evenly before you roll. For a more even draw, it helps to lightly moisten the included filter tip and roll it firmly before inserting it. This holds the shape and prevents the end from collapsing.
Because the paper is produced at low humidity, it reacts sensitively to moist fingertips. A brief lick is enough. Too much moisture softens the thin structure and makes a clean seal more difficult.
The unbleached tips from the same pack match the paper perfectly in thickness and texture. Both burn at a similar rate, which keeps the burn line straight. Anyone who rolls regularly will notice this detail directly after just a few attempts.
