Purize Spy 9mm: Activated Charcoal Filter with Everyday Design in Direct Comparison
Anyone familiar with activated charcoal filters will first think of the visible, cylindrical shape of the well-known Purize XTRA Slim or Regular filters. The Purize Spy takes a different approach. With its slim exterior, the Spy model is visually modelled on classic cigarette filters – a deliberate departure from the typical headshop look that goes unnoticed in daily life. The diameter remains identical at 9mm to the Regular size, making it compatible with all common 9mm pipes as well as hand-rolled cigarettes that require a wide filter tip.
While many no-name activated charcoal filters rely on inexpensive coal, Purize uses activated charcoal made from coconut shells in the Spy. This variant has a finer pore structure, which keeps the draw more even and significantly reduces bitter residues in the taste. Ceramic caps fitted on both sides securely enclose the charcoal – no charcoal abrasion at the mouthpiece, no loss when transferring. Made in Germany.
Build Quality and Storage: What Sets the Purize Spy Apart in Detail
50 filters per pack is standard in the activated charcoal filter segment. What sets the Spy apart, however, is the packaging itself: the pouch is both air- and watertight and resealable. This means the remaining filters stay in a protected condition even after opening, losing neither their freshness nor their effectiveness through moisture or oxygen.
