Medusa Hybrid Filter Violet 6mm: Coconut Activated Carbon, Made in Germany
When you open the resealable bag, the first thing you notice is the neutral, slightly earthy scent of the coconut activated carbon. The small violet-coloured filters sit evenly inside the bag, the outer fibre caps feeling firm and structured. No powder trickles out – the activated carbon is securely clamped between the two fibre caps. That is no coincidence; it is by design.
Medusa produces these hybrid filters in Germany, using a three-part construction: two vegan fibre caps hold the activated carbon layer reliably in place. The 6 mm diameter fits the common papers and tubes available on the market. The activated carbon itself is derived from coconut, a renewable raw material with a characteristically porous structure.
Hybrid Filter Construction: What the Three-Layer Design Means in Everyday Use
The hybrid construction sets these filters apart from simple acetate filters. While a pure acetate filter works only mechanically, the activated carbon layer inside works additionally through adsorption. The result in everyday use: the smoke tastes cleaner and less bitter. The fibre caps ensure that no particles enter the mouth and that the draw remains consistent.
