Volume Tobacco
Buy bulk tobacco in Switzerland – rolling tobacco at CBDeluxe
Buying bulk tobacco at CBDeluxe means: the most economical and cost-effective way to consume tobacco, specially optimised for rolling machines and cigarette tubes. Thanks to the expansion process – where the tobacco is puffed up under heat and pressure – fewer grams fill the same tube, significantly reducing consumption per cigarette.
What is bulk tobacco and how does it differ from fine-cut tobacco
Bulk tobacco – also known as filling tobacco or expanded tobacco – is looser and coarser cut than fine-cut tobacco. Thanks to the expansion technology, it has a greater volume per gram, meaning significantly less tobacco is required per cigarette – typically 0.5g to 0.7g instead of around 0.9g for fine-cut tobacco. This makes it the most efficient choice for anyone who fills their own cigarettes. The lower residual moisture is intentional: damp tobacco clogs rolling machines and makes operation difficult. Depending on the rolling technique, around 120 to 150 cigarettes can be made from 80g of bulk tobacco. Although bulk tobacco can be rolled by hand, it is not ideal for this – the short-fibred, drier structure lacks grip when rolling and the tobacco falls out of the paper easily. For hand-rolling, fine-cut tobacco is recommended.
Brands and range
The loose tobacco range at CBDeluxe includes Switzerland’s best-selling brands – from classic blends such as Winston, Camel and Marlboro to milder Virginia blends. Pack sizes range from compact tins for everyday use to large containers for bulk buyers. For best results, we recommend standard filter tubes in the appropriate size, as well as a manual or electric tobacco filler from our range of accessories.
Storage and tips
Store loose tobacco in an airtight container, in a cool place away from direct light. With large quantities, ensure that the tobacco at the bottom of the tin or bucket does not turn to dust – stirring it regularly helps. A Hydrostone regulates the moisture, but be careful: too much moisture renders the tobacco unusable for filling machines. If the tobacco has become too dry, placing a slightly damp paper towel in the closed tin for over 24 hours is often sufficient to restore it.
